It’s more than a possibility
Colten Companion (Activity Organiser) - Up To £500 Welcome Bonus
Based at Wellington Grange in Chichester
Up to £11.92 per hour
26 hours per week. The hours of our Colten Companions are typically spread across the week (with alternate weekend working) with varied shift patterns spanning across the day from breakfast clubs through to early evening activities all designed around the resident who is at the heart of all that we do.
Joining the team as a 'Colten Companion' (Activity Organiser / Activity Co-ordinator / Support Worker), ensures that the residents of our care home can look forward to a calendar of meaningful activities that contribute to their overall wellbeing.
The Activities / Companionship role is very rewarding. You will be responsible for co-ordinating a rolling calendar of entertainment within the home that includes: planning and delivering games, quizzes, arts and crafts; arranging days out on the minibus; booking outside entertainers and organising fundraising and themed events. Activities can be of any size from 'whole home events' through to smaller group activities and quiet, one to one sessions and your role is to organise and run these events as per the rota, to meet our residents' needs.
You will actively encourage involvement with community groups, inviting people into the home to join us on occasions such as gala functions, raffles, fetes, coffee mornings and other sponsored activities. The role is fun and varied; no two days are the same and you will be making a positive difference to the physical and intellectual wellbeing of residents in your care.
Working with us offers you a superb range of benefits including:
- Up to £500 Welcome Bonus (terms apply)
- Paid breaks
- We offer truly competitive rates of pay plus excellent enhancements

As someone who enjoys bringing sunshine into the lives of older people you will love to organise events and activities and have a happy, friendly disposition. You’ll be a committed, caring and patient person who shares our goal of delivering excellence in person centred care. You will feel confident being in front of groups of people, providing group entertainment and equally happy to participate in one-to-one activities.
In this role, we look for personal qualities that match our company values: friendly, kind, individual, reassuring and honest. Other essential qualities are about being flexible and approachable, with excellent communication skills and a good level of computer and keyboard skills.
A relevant qualification or experience in entertainment / performance is desirable but not essential.
We will support you with ongoing development, in a team-based community, with staffing levels recognised as among the best in the care sector.
