About the job

The Admiral Nurse provides strategic, professional, clinical leadership and consultancy in nursing practice throughout Colten Care.  You’ll contribute to and influence training and education programs to increase awareness and promote best practice in dementia care throughout the company.

 

The Admiral Nurse works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders across our portfolio of homes to provide a seamless approach to care for residents living with dementia.  This post will be based at our Outstanding Dementia Community in Lymington you will be required to provide support across our other homes in the New Forest, Winchester and Chichester. This is a high profile role, to complement our existing Admiral Nurse. You will act as the clinical lead in the provision of dementia services with a focus on both strategic and clinical issues.   The role includes practical, clinical care of residents within our homes along with the wider remit of consultation, education and evaluation, acting as the ‘expert resource’ for dementia at Colten Care.

 

About you

 

You’ll be an exceptional individual who, through your experience and knowledge, can influence, lead and motivate team members at all levels.  We’re looking for a specialist Nurse in dementia, someone who can instil a passion for dementia care within our homes to further develop our teams’ approach and thinking.

 You’ll demonstrate excellent communication skills using a variety of internal communication strategies to advise and liaise with team members at varying levels of the business (e.g. presentations, training, meetings, written documents etc).

As an Admiral Nurse at Colten Care, you will demonstrate high levels of competence in the following areas:

  • Professional leadership and consultancy
  • Practice and service development and evaluation
  • Education, teaching and research
  • Expert clinical practice

You must be a car driver, able to attend meetings at other Colten Care locations.
