Administrative Assistant – 3-month fixed term contract

Based at Fernhill, Longham, Ferndown, BH22 9AW, a dedicated dementia care home. You may be asked to support other local Colten Care homes in this role.

£8.72 p/h

37.5 hours per week

Colten Care are offering a new job opportunity for an Administrative Assistant / Junior Office Administrator to join our care home Administration team on a fixed-term, temporary basis. Your responsibilities will include:

  • being the first point of contact for telephone enquiries and essential visitors to the care home
  • high volume data entry and record keeping
  • dealing with confidential enquiries and maintaining confidential records
  • providing administrative support to the Administration department and Home Manager
  • basic HR/Recruitment administration, when applicable
  • general day to day duties, copy typing, filing, photocopying, willingness to ‘lend a hand’

We are looking for the following experience and qualities:

  • previous administration or office experience, possibly an office junior or an NVQ diploma or similar in administration
  • GCSE at Grade C / 5 or above in English and Maths
  • an all-rounder who takes pride in providing a warm welcome and quality of service
  • strong work ethic and enjoys working as part of a team
  • able to demonstrate initiative and willingness to learn
  • methodical and confidential approach
  • shows attention to detail, checks for accuracy
  • positive, self-motivated attitude

  • a car driver is preferred; the ability to assist at other local Colten Care homes is desirable
