Maintenance Person (care homes)
40 hours per week covering Brook View / Fernhill in Ferndown.
£13.30 per hour.
This contract is offered as 40 hours per week with duties split evenly across two homes in Dorset.
The Maintenance Person provides cover for routine maintenance services and minor repair work within our care homes. Safe, reliable facilities are essential to our residents’ individual well-being. Your responsibilities will include monthly/weekly tests and inspections on equipment such as fire doors, water temperature outlets, fire extinguishers, security doors, internal and external lighting, wheelchairs, window restrictors, reclining chairs and nursing beds.
A central part of the maintenance role is administrative, keeping accurate records via our maintenance software system and reporting issues or observations to the Facilities Management team to ensure the homes are safe and meet both Colten Care and Regulatory standards. In addition, you will provide practical help, support, advice and reactive repairs. You'll have a keen eye for detail, utilising the maintenance software system for matters requiring attention and providing a responsive approach to the various maintenance needs of the care homes.
About You
You'll have a good general knowledge of building and mechanical services and experience of a trade such as electrical work, carpentry or plumbing. You are used to keeping records and are happy to work without immediate supervision, staying calm under pressure and with a great eye for detail. You are a good communicator and will enjoy getting to know and conversing with our residents. You must be a car driver to carry out the necessary duties of the post.
