Care Trainer

40 hours per week,

£12.50 p hr, plus car allowance

We are recruiting for three positions, covering a cluster of homes each, predominately covering Dorset and Hampshire.

We’re looking for a Care Trainer to become a valued part of our Induction Academy, supporting care colleagues through the first weeks and months of their career in our care homes across Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire and West Sussex.

No previous experience in delivering training is required.  This role sits within the Learning and Development team who will provide all of the on-the-job training you might need.

You’ll work with fellow Care Trainers and Home Managers across our homes to develop the understanding of care skills, behaviours and values in new team members, ensuring everyone receives a warm welcome to Colten Care. You’ll deliver general learning to equip all our teams including kitchen and dining, housekeeping, gardeners, maintenance teams, nurses and of course our carers to start their new roles in Colten Care with confidence.

About you

You’ll have extensive experience supporting care colleagues in their learning, but don’t need any Learning and Development qualification or training delivery experience – we’ll supply all the skills training needed for this role, tailoring it to you personally.

You’ll have great communications skills and a passion for influencing and engaging your colleagues to provide outstanding care.  You’re organised, hard-working, resilient, with attention to detail and a sense of fun.  You will be prepared to work an occasional evening or weekend day and also have access to your own car.

About Us

We’re a local, family-owned, award-winning care home group, with an outstanding reputation within the industry thanks to our amazing people and our focus on keeping the resident at the heart of everything we do.

All 21 of our nursing homes are rated good or outstanding by the CQC, our national regulator. We provide the perfect blend of luxurious comfort and clinical excellence, ensuring residents enjoy a better quality of later life.

Our ethos is about developing people to reach their potential. Not only will you play a significant role in the start of that journey for your colleagues, you’ll also have the opportunity to be sponsored and supported to achieve a Level 3 Learning & Development qualification, should that be something you want.
