About the role

Due to expansion and growth, Colten Care are recruiting for additional IT Application Support to assist with technical queries via a ‘first response’ helpdesk support system and to support in resolving technical issues with our business applications across the Colten group. 

The role of IT Application Support will see you take additional responsibility for day to day support of software applications as well as helping to produce reports, spreadsheets, IT statistics and other documentation. You will update the IT inventory and provide one-to-one help (in person or over the telephone) or workshop based support/training.

Supporting all Head Office functions and the wider portfolio of care homes, the role will be based in Ringwood and may require occasional travel to support 21 Colten Care homes in Dorset, Hampshire, Wiltshire and West Sussex.

Main Duties:

  • Provide first line helpdesk support to end users via telephone and email.
  • Support users of corporate systems including communications and desktop applications used within the Company and provide resolutions to issues.
  • Support a wide range of software, helping end users to complete day to day tasks.
  • Utilising strong Excel skills including pivot tables, V lookups, Sumif functions, being able to create spreadsheets and manipulate data.
  • Produce reports as necessary to address business requirements.
  • Assist in ensuring all business applications are accurate, efficient and otherwise fit for purpose.
  • Generate references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation.
  • Install and configure software applications.
  • Assist in the management of corporate systems access and control in line with agreed Company policy.
  • To liaise with all departments and assist with the creation and maintenance of IT systems to support the company.
  • Maintain user confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintain satisfactory standards of safety and security in relation to computer rooms and equipment.
  • Retain professional and technical knowledge by striving for continuous professional development.

About you

This is a diverse and varied role which will require a methodical approach. The position will best suit someone with an A level in computing or similar background in IT software support with strong MS Excel skills.

You will be expected to have some understanding of SQL, HTML and Java script and be able to pick up new systems with ease.

You will be able to think through problems logically; able to work on your own initiative and take ownership of IT issues and problems, seeing them through to resolution.

Supporting the wider teams within our care homes and support functions, you will need a friendly and cheerful disposition, whilst working under pressure to achieve deadlines and targets.

You’ll be an excellent, flexible team worker, able to fit in with our current team of IT specialists at Colten House.
