About the job

Inspiring and relaxing surroundings are essential to our residents’ individual wellbeing. By creating and looking after the beautiful outdoor spaces, our Gardeners support the quality of life of all our residents. Reporting to the Home Manager and group-wide Head Gardener, you will develop and maintain the gardens and outside spaces to the highest standards. As well as a full range of physical gardening tasks, you will treat residents with courtesy and respect and encourage their interest in the garden.  Many of our gardeners take an active interest in providing ‘gardening clubs’ to residents which supports their wellbeing, enabling them to continue a passion and interest in nature, plants, flowers and the seasons.

The closing date for applications is 12th October 2020.

About you

You have proven gardening experience, knowledge of horticulture and, ideally, an understanding of the care home environment. You are confident using a wide range of garden equipment including power tools, can prioritise tasks and work efficiently on your own initiative. Literate in English, you are a good communicator, with a friendly, kind, honest and reassuring personality. You will share our goal of delivering excellence in person centred care.

We offer a range of benefits including:

  • paid breaks
  • excellent inductions, training and ‘on the job’ support
  • friendly team and great support network of internal professionals
  • real career progression opportunities
  • staff introduction scheme
  • annual pay review
  • free uniforms
  • contributory pension scheme
  • background checks at no cost to you
